Cycling
Cycling is undoubtedly one of the best ways to experience the unspoilt beauty of the Killarney National Park and indeed the kingdom of Kerry as a whole.
At Kenmare House – Lakes of Killarney, you can rent bikes directly from Reception and pedal straight into the demesne area of the park. From here, journey on to Ross Castle, Ross Island and the Blue Pool or the Killarney House and Gardens. This route is perfect for families as there are no main roads or traffic to navigate.
Explore the wonders of Muckross by starting at the old ruins of the mystical Muckross Abbey right through to the magnificent Muckross House and Gardens, before cycling onwards to the magical cascades of Torc Waterfall and the wonderful woodlands of Dinis.
If you are looking for a more challenging cycle-route, then the famous Ring of Kerry cycle will be right up your path with its abundance of scenic wonders such as the Kerry Cliffs, Ladies View and the Lakes of Killarney.
Travel to some of the most picturesque rural villages in Kerry, such as Glenbeigh, Waterville and Sneem and stop off at some of the county’s most celebrated sandy beaches such as Derrynane and Rossbeigh.
