Built in 1969 by Beatrice Grosvenor, the last of the Kenmare-Browne dynasty to live in Killarney, Kenmare House is a fully renovated luxury mansion that offers a unique stay in the secluded woodlands of the Killarney National Park.
Designed with an eye for period romance combined with all the classic comforts of a contemporary country home, this Self-Catering House is perfect for large family vacations, golf holidays and special occasions.
Unwind in the blue hues of its opulent Drawing Room, browse the old-worldly shelves of the original Library or simply take a seat on the Patio and drink in the sweet country air while looking out onto the magnificent views of the MacGillycuddy Reeks.
Cook up a storm in the superb ambience of the bespoke Kitchen with its vaulted hand-painted ceiling and exposed rafters. Toast to a meal fit for a king in the dramatically elegant Dining Room before retiring to the relaxing Lounge for a nightcap. End the perfect evening with a peaceful slumber in one of the many stylish Guestrooms.
After settling into your new surroundings, it won’t be long before the great outdoors invites you to explore the evergreen wonders of the parkland. Ramble around the lavish grounds of the historic home with its sprawling flowering gardens or wander further afield to the back garden of the Killarney National Park where a variety of activities await.

The Manor House hosts 8 Guestrooms, including two large King Rooms Ensuite as well as a Junior King Ensuite. The remaining bedrooms, which include three Superior Double-Rooms, and two Superior Single-Rooms share access to two bathrooms between them.

Family
Babies and children are very welcome. A cot and highchair are available, but there are no stairgates.
Practicalities
- There is plenty of parking available – up to 6 cars at the front of the House.
- The country-style Kitchen includes a Cuisinemaster range cooker, an American-style fridge freezer, a top of the range Hoover wine cooler, larder, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.
- The House has a Boot Room/ Drying Room for golf clubs and wet gear.
- The Lounge includes a Self-Service Bar, which can be stocked on request.
Homestay Inclusions
- A Welcome Hamper with some little necessities to enjoy during your stay including a local map and walking brochure, bottled water, artisan chocolates, fruit, cereal, brown bread and a selection of tea, coffee, milk and sugar. The Hamper also includes samples of some of our favourite Killarney brands such as Killarney Organic soaps and products, Killarney Honey and Killarney Craft Beers.
- 43-inch Flat Screen TV’s in all Guestrooms, Dining Room and Kitchen and 55-inch TV’s in Lounge and Drawing Room.
